Ax Caliber, a coffee house and ax throwing venue, in the Heritage Plaza in Downtown Lakeland is expanding. The two design phases for this expansion began in July and includes the growth of the Ax Throwing pit to 18 lanes, new private event room, and the expansion of the overall gathering space. With the first phase complete, the second phase will be initiated late this year with the addition of a virtual gun range, extra seating + dining, another outside entry, more socialization space, and more food and beverage service options. They’ll stay open for all your ax throwing and coffee needs during normal business hours as the construction is concealed to the public. The Lunz Group is excited to work alongside Aspyre Properties and Ax Caliber to complete both phases of Ax Caliber.
The expansion of Ax Caliber will bring more employment opportunities to the downtown Lakeland area for full-time and part-time positions. They will be able to handle private events for larger crowds and will have a more diversified entertainment selection; pool tables, air hockey, a table shuffleboard, and nine additional ax pits and 18 throwing lanes.
Another exciting new addition to the expansion is the four virtual gun range lanes. Each fully interactive lane will support up to four shooters where you will get to pick your favorite gun and favorite movie – like “John Wick” to go along with the theme. In addition to this, each lane comes with a full table and sofa for comfortable seating and hang-areas.
Shooting at virtual targets can work up an appetite and luckily, Ax Caliber has you covered. Lane side food ordering will be an option with the freedom to chow down at the reserved lane. The full menu contains beer and wine options along with the new baked potatoes and flatbread options.
